lyrics

The Song That Made Me Cry

I was home alone at four A.M.
waiting for the night to end
with a weariness that no sleep could satisfy
the time was passing much too slow
so I turned on the radio
'twas then I heard the song that made me cry

Please Mr. record man
won't you try and understand
I don't know what it's called or who it's by
but it's something about a girl in the rain
and it has a very sad refrain
help me find the song that made me cry

well it hit me to my heart
and made me wonder why
when I heard the song that made me cry

Thanks again I gotta go
and get back to my radio
maybe they will play it by and by
and I'll go over every line
I hope it means as much this time
when I hear the song that made me cry
it made me cry
oh I can hear it now
it made me cry
