Once upon a lonely time the world was dark and hearts were blind Then one day a light appeared to warm the soul and dry the tears Adrift upon an angry sea I was my own worst enemy I came upon your harbor light to guide me through the stormy night Let the sun shine in the sky Let me look into your eyes Like the river runs to the sea Let your heart reach out to me All at once I see it written in the stars above Let There Be Love I can’t believe what I have found happiness is all around I did my time I paid the price now I’m with you in paradise The rain is gone my heart is free the road is clear in front of me And like a never ending song your melody will lead me on Let the sun shine in the sky Let me look into your eyes Like the river runs to the sea Let your heart reach out to me All at once I see it written in the stars above Let There Be Love

Lazy Susan 02:45
Lazy Susan set on the table willing and able to please so much to choose tell me how can you lose spin me the crackers and cheese Lazy Susan in the midst of the chatter none of it matters to her no ifs, ands, or buts, just raisins and nuts or whatever it is you prefer Round and around the Susan will turn don’t you refuse her soon you will learn the girl of the hour always a treat she can be sour she can be sweet oh Lazy Susan caught in the middle speaking her riddle and rhyme no need to reach for a pear or a peach everything comes in good time Lazy Susan (INSTRUMENTAL) Round and around the Susan will go taking you high and leaving you low the life of the party always a hoot she can be cunning she can be cute oh Lazy Susan scattered and crumbled everything’s jumbled and done but come back again and she’ll make you her friend with kisses and candy and gum kisses and candy and gum kisses and candy and gum

Geese flying north ‘cross a grey October sky Twin Oaks in a foggy dawn we journeyed southward from Portland on I-5 Misty Roses on a Stone An old guitar in the backseat of a car muse and mem’ries here and gone we sang your songs yes they’re still alive Misty Roses on a Stone (BRIDGE) In the midst of that Greenwich Village scene crossing over the line mumbling stumbling hanging on to a dream slowly vanishing in time (INSTRUMENTAL) (BRIDGE) you left your soul and your poetry pressed in vinyl on a shelf robbed of your pride and your honesty no one could save you from yourself And so we bring this simple gift today after all you’re not alone fresh from a garden to the place where you lay Misty Roses on a Stone

I remember the day when I first laid eyes on you right then I knew you were the one An angel in white just a’dancing on the floor forevermore had just begun A friend of a friend we were introduced that way You looked my way so graciously biding my time as I knew you had his ring waiting in the wings so patiently call it luck call it fate not too early not too late I could not control what was happening to me Just one kiss And The Rest Is History (INSTRUMENTAL) sometimes up sometimes down sometimes smile sometimes frown and all the beautiful things that were to be Just one kiss And The Rest Is History As I look back over all the joy and tears the precious years I’ve had with you I remember the kiss underneath the stars above everlasting love was meant to be sometimes pleasure sometimes pain sometimes sunshine sometimes rain working together to build a family Just one kiss just one kiss just that kiss And The Rest Is History

And alas, I have found you my long lost child how I’ve feared and fretted dear daughter See my loving eyes and outstretched hand oh won’t you come home with your mother I do not remember your loving eyes though you say that i am your daughter and now I am one with my husband you see and I wish to be with no other But they burned our house and stole our horses they tortured and murdered your father They dragged you away in a burlap sack took you away from your mother Oh so many memories the years have erased tho’ your face i fain would remember I only know now of my children three and I wish to be with no other And who is this man who stands at your side, who is this person dear daughter tell him we’ve won at Bushy Run you are free to come home with your mother Behold a chief of the Delaware true, brave and handsome He has taken me and protected me I cannot comply with your ransom Oh what have they done to you Mary my dear your face and fingers all weathered And what are these colors you wear on your skin your hair all braided and feathered We work each day in the sun and THE wind gathering food together and I’m proud of the colors I wear on my skin my hair all braided and feathered Come hither my dear let me take you back back to the life you were livin’ your clothes shall be clean and plate be full your bed shall be warm with white linen I would rather sleep ‘neath the open sky and feel the Great Spirit above me These are my people and this is my home I must stay with my husband who loves me Oh don’t you remember the cottonwood tree where you laughed and played with your brother where the breezes blew and the dandelions grew by a cabin that sits by the water I do not remember a cottonwood tree or a cabin that sits by the water I only know of my children three BUT you say that I have a brother And alas I have found you my long lost child how I’ve feared and fretted dear daughter Now won’t you remember the song I sang so sweetly to you and your brother So sing me oh sing me the song you sang so sweetly to me and my brother Oh yes, I remember your lullaby song Rock me oh rock me to slumber Mother, rock me to slumber

Got a call from an old friend yesterday I hadn’t heard from him since I don’t know when It seems what’s left of the class of ‘63 will gather once again at the Inn High school reunion I know she’ll be there to see her would be more than I can bear I don’t wanna go I don’t wanna know why I lost her love somehow And who’s holding her now I don’t wanna see I don’t wanna be The one who’s hiding in the hall with my face to the wall Oh no I don’t wanna go I told my friend I had better things to do Old memories are more than enough He said “Jim won’t you come along anyway, we could have ourselves some laughs at the pub” Facebook connection She still looks so fine but nothing you can say will change my mind I don’t wanna go I don’t wanna know When she looks into my eyes I’ll just break down and cry I don’t wanna see I don’t wanna be the one who’s talking thru my tears and have it fall on deaf ears Oh no, I don’t wanna go Oh no, I don’t wanna go
8.
Everything's crazy my head's spinnin round You learned to fly and left me here on the ground the night is fallin' and the radio's playin that old song It says "Go now, do what you gotta do" but all I want to do is to be with you and give you all of my loving how can that be wrong Now I don't wanna make it hard on you baby it's hard enough just trying to be real in this old phony world but if you ever need somebody to talk to I'll be right there you know I care I'm gonna love you Whoever You Are Outside the wind whispers your name if I can't see you I may go insane but they say there's a time for holding on and a time for letting go I know you'll change but keep your soul you don't have to go around playing the role so go on and find yourself but don't blind yourself let your spirit flow And I don't wanna make it hard on you baby it's hard enough just trying to be real in this old phony world but if you ever need somebody to talk to I'll be right there you know I care I'm gonna love you Whoever You Are

As I was walking down that dead end street I saw the reflection of a man who looked like me Is it just my getting older that makes me look this way or has my soul been exposed IN TIME like the Picture of Dorian Gray guilt can be a ball and chain drags you down and it eats your brain Is it just my getting Colder that makes me FEEL this way or has my soul been exposed IN TIME like the Picture of Dorian Gray And every night it’s the same secret PLace Idraw the curtain and stand face to face Is it just my getting Bolder that makes me WANT TO FADE AWAY Yes my soul has been exposed THIS TIME like the Picture of Dorian Gray

Jeannie and Janey were childhood friends going through their formative years always together through the thick and the thin sharing all the laughter and tears Johnny was always hanging around the proverbial boy next door Jeannie and Janey didn’t care about boys Johnny thought that girls were a bore Time goes by, growing up faster than grass my oh my, innocence just doesn’t last Jeannie was the valedictorian girl Janey the queen of the prom Johnny played guitar in a rock and roll band living his life in a song Johnny thought Janey was out of this world Jeannie thought Johnny was dumb Janey told Jeannie her heart was on fire Jeannie told Janey to run Time goes by, flying like a bird on the wing By and by, Johnny gave Janey a ring Janey & Johnny were married that Spring Li’l Jimmy came late in the fall Johnny enlisted to find a career then he went off to the war meanwhile Jeannie was a’working so hard doin’ just fine on her own Janey and Jimmy were struggling so Jeannie gave Janey a loan (INST BREAK) why oh why, Johnny won’t be coming back home cry cry cry, Janey couldn’t face it alone Jeannie and Janey were married last june Li’l Jimmy thought the wedding was fun he never really got to know his Dad and two Moms are better than one

We can make it We can make it We can make it to the top of the hill We've got problems but everybody's got problems and I know we can make it I know that we will Love will come and love will go people tend to change like the weather but thru the rain and sleet and snow baby we can make it together forever We don't have much money but I still love you honey and I know we're gonna make it I know that we will Well it's a mean old world but if you'll be my girl We can make it It's a long hard climb but baby we got time and We can make it Oh yea oh yea oh yea I know we can make it We can make it Climb up a little higher We can make it (fade)
12.
The sun comes up it’s brand new morning there’s revolution in the air sometimes pain is an early warning and now it’s more than we can bear The rich get rich and the poor are get poorer there’s greed and corruption all around but the winds of change are blowing stronger what goes up must come down We have our chance is anybody listening there may be no next time my friend Is this the end of the beginning or just The Beginning Of The End Chemicals rise the fires are burning we live our lives under the gun but Mother Earth she just keeps on a’turning In spite of the damage that we’ve done Some they scoff at the change in the weather left and right the pendulum swings sometimes things get worse before they get better we’ll just have to see what the future brings So turn the page and it’s the same old story everything old is new again Is this the end of the beginning Or just the Beginning Of The End Is this the end of the beginning Or just The Beginning Of The End
